Warped Text 🌪️

We added Warped Text to the Cuttle editor!

To use it, click Browse All Shapes >, then find the section for Warped Text and drag any example out.

There are also plenty more examples if you click More >.

You can, of course, change the text and the font.

With each example, you can also adjust the shape of the warp.

The Custom warped text shape lets you use any 4-cornered Path as the “envelope” for the warping.

Drag it out, then double click it to edit the handles or bend the handles of the Path.

We added a Search feature to Cuttle! It will search all of your own projects as well as templates and projects from the community.

A pop-up book designed in Cuttle 🦊

One of my favorite things that has come out of starting Cuttle is meeting Federico Tobon, aka wolfCatWorkshop. He was an early beta tester and found Cuttle to be a great match for his explorative workflow. You’ve of course seen the wonderful tutorial videos that he’s produced for us, but he also has his own intensive art practice.

Federico recently completed a pop-up zine called the Other.

He used Cuttle to design the tabs and mechanisms but it’s just one tool in his process. He shared how he develops his pop-ups and showed us how the spreads evolve in this YouTube Live interview we did with him. (Highly recommended!)

The Other is available for purchase in Federico’s store. He also has a Patreon where he shares in-progress updates of art he’s working on.

• Fixed a quirk with the Pen Tool. When drawing paths and dragging anchor handles, we now set the handleConstraint to “free” when you hold alt / option to break tangents.
• Improved how we name emoji dragged from the Create Panel.
